Time For Our Forever Home

We have been in the business of building homes for the last 40+ years.  During that time we estimate we have built approximately 400 homes.  Starter homes, spec homes, vacation homes, custom homes, little homes, big homes, dream homes, first homes and last homes.  In those 40+ years we have had  17 different homes.  From our first apartment, our first new home, homes with amazing views, a home on a river and one on a lake, a huge home and a cozy small 1930 home we brought back to its glory.  We have loved them all, but we have never had our 'forever home'.

Now in our early, okay maybe mid-sixties, it is times for our 'forever home'.  So the search was on to find a place close to town, but far from the noise and traffic that comes with.  Close to family,  shopping, and friends but secluded enough to give us a sense of peace and tranquility.  And with the help of Sam's dad we found it!

Okay, so it might not look like everyone's idea of a dream home, but after building 400+ new homes we concluded a new home just didn't hold any fascination for us.  So we decided to do something totally different and I guess a little bit crazy.  We decided to take the barn/storage building that was on the property and convert it to our forever home.  So this blog will be the story of

The Barn That Would Be Home
